Export / Import manager – Supply Chain

Barcelona (Sant Cugat del Vallés)

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

International Logistics Coordination: Manage the end-to-end process of import and export shipments, ensuring all goods are delivered on time and in compliance with relevant international laws and regulations.

Customs Compliance: Ensure adherence to customs requirements, including preparing and reviewing customs documentation (e.g., invoices, certificates of origin) and working with customs brokers to avoid delays.

Logistics Coordination: Manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics partners to ensure cost-effective and timely shipping of diamond tools and accessories.

Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure smooth transitions from production to global shipping, meeting customer deadlines and inventory requirements.

Documentation Management: Prepare and verify all shipping, customs, and import/export documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient processing through customs.

Product Handling: Ensure that diamond tools and related products are handled properly, paying close attention to the fragile nature of some items and the specific requirements for high-value, precision tools.

International Vendor & Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers and customers to ensure product availability, timely deliveries, and smooth business operations.

Regulatory Updates: Stay informed of changes in international trade laws, tariffs, and industry-specific regulations, adjusting internal practices as needed.

Inventory Management: Oversee the import and export inventory process, working closely with warehouse teams to ensure that products are received, stored, and distributed as efficiently as possible.

Cost Control: Monitor shipping and customs costs, looking for opportunities to optimize international shipping strategies and reduce costs while maintaining service quality.

Risk Management: Identify and manage potential risks in the global supply chain, from customs delays to transport issues, and create contingency plans as necessary.

Reporting & Analysis: Prepare regular reports on export/import activities, including shipping volumes, timelines, costs, and any challenges encountered, for management review.

Educational Qualification:

Master's degree in International Business, Supply Chain management or related field.

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in export-import management or international logistics.

Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedure, documentation

Strong interpersonal and English communication skills

Excellent negotiation skills

Proficient in MS office or supply chain management tools/software

Job Timing:

Standard time - 08:00 to 16:30 (Monday to Thursday) 07:00 to 15:00 (Friday)
