Leadership & Team Management: Lead and manage a team of R&D engineers, scientists, and technicians. Foster a collaborative environment to promote innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the team.

Strategic R&D Direction: Develop and implement the overall R&D strategy aligned with business goals and market needs. Identify new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes to enhance the performance and capabilities of diamond cutting tools.

Product Development: Oversee the development of new tools, including selecting materials, designing prototypes, conducting tests, and refining designs to meet customer and industry requirements.

Innovation & Technology Advancement: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in materials science, diamond technology, and cutting processes. Lead the exploration of new cutting-edge techniques and technologies that can be applied to diamond tools.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product management, engineering, and manufacturing teams to translate R&D findings into marketable products. Provide technical guidance during product development, ensuring feasibility and scalability.

Performance Testing: Quality & Establish and oversee rigorous testing programs to evaluate the performance, durability, and reliability of new and existing products. Ensure that products meet or exceed industry standards for cutting efficiency and tool life.

Budget & Resource Management: Develop and manage the R&D budget, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources for research projects, testing, and technology acquisition.

Customer-Centric Innovation: Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and customer service teams to identify customer pain points and ensure that new products address customer needs, improving performance in various cutting applications.

Intellectual Property (IP): Oversee the protection of intellectual property related to new products and technologies, working with legal teams to file patents and safeguard proprietary innovations.

Compliance & Standards: Ensure that all R&D activities comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control processes. Participate in industry forums and conferences to stay informed on new standards and regulations.

Reporting & Communication: Provide regular updates to senior leadership on the progress of R&D projects, milestones, and key achievements. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and product documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

PhD in Material Science/Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in R&D Leadership roles within the diamond tool industry or a related precision tooling industry.

In depth knowledge of diamond technologies, allied diamond technologies.

Strong interpersonal and English communication skills

Experience with managing large-scale R&D projects, from concept to commercialization, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Experience in advanced manufacturing technologies such as laser cutting, EDM, or precision grinding for tool applications.

Familiarity with ISO standards, Six Sigma, or similar quality management systems in product development.

Experience in patenting or managing intellectual property in a technical field.

Proficiency in R&D management software tools
